Light supper/Tapas style dining near Lincoln Center @ 9 PM...Bar Boulud fully booked
Suggestions?
Chances of walk-in seating at that hour at Bar Boulud (bar seating is fine)?
We are a party of three. Glass of wine and appetizers would be perfect.

You could try the bars at Lincoln, Picholine or Boulud Sud. The bar at Telepan is also quite nice and usually not crowded.

GastroArte (formerly Graffit) on 69th & Broadway for great tapas. You should try to get a reservation there too - ask to be in the tapas room.

re: famdoc
Tell us about the tapas. Gastroarte is across the street from me and I went a few times early on. I thought the combinations interesting on paper and the presentations are lovely, But I thought the flavors ho-hum and haven't returned recently. Perhaps they've upped their game?

re: famdoc
How does it compare to Mercat, Casa Mono, Txikito, Tertulia, Boqueria, etc? How would you rank it amongst the other Spanish tapas offerings in town?

re: kathryn
Sorry but I can't compare GastroArte to the restaurants you (kathryn) mention, since it's been a while since I've been to Casa Mono, Boqueria, or Mercat, and have never been to Txikito (although it's on 'my list') or Tertulia. I must confess that I live a block from GastroArte so that gives it an extra star, but that said, we're always happy after a meal of tapas there, and find their Sangria a class above most others. Glad to hear that famdoc wasn't disappointed.
