Charleston eating itinerary...comments?
My wife and I are going for our first trip to Charleston and we are true Maryland foodies that LOVE our seafood. We will only be there 2 nights/3 days and we do not normally eat much of a breakfast. Arrive around Noon Wed......lunch at Amen St. since we are unsure of exact eating time. Dinner first night at FIG............lunch 2nd day at 82 Queen after boat tour (ask for courtyard seating if weather is good) and dinner that night at Cru Cafe. We must leave before Noon on 3rd day so we thought a late breakfat at Toast around 11ish. We tend towards funkier eating places that are busy and fun than eloquent formal dining rooms....and we are also famous for eating at the bar as an option in right settings. But of course the food must be good! The other place I was looking at was SNOB..........any comments or suggestions from the experienced Charlestonites? Thanks.....I promise to deliver a fork by fork account of our experiencs. JCK

You have done your research! All those are great choices. Amen is open all afternoon so you can go anytime. The bar at FIG is fun, should you decide you'd like to do that. If they have the pate do yourself a favor and get it. Do sit out at 82 Queen and Cru as well if the weather is nice. When are you coming?
SNOB is also a good choice and they serve lunch on weekdays.
You'll find that the "funky"places in the Historic District are bars. It's a city full of decorum, and the nice restaurants reflect that, but none of these are stuffy. There are some funky fish-shack places outside the city, but it sounds like you're set for this trip. Have fun and do give us a report.

re: Sue in Mt P
We will be coming the 2nd week of November so not too sure about sitting outside for dinner unless it is warmer than expected. I think I saw a mention of a Chef's table or kitchen-side type of possibility at FIG....any insight? We are really looking forward to this short trip...been a very long time since we have been able to get away and I have already started a pre-trip diet to prepare for the expected intake of gastronomical delights and liberal libations. Thanks. JCK

re: jck
You'll likely be able to sit outside in November unless it's raining. The patio at 82 Queen is walled so no wind.
Never done the chef's table at FIG, but I can imagine it would be great if you can get a spot.
You might not need to diet. Just walk around the HD before and after your meals. I hope you love it here as much as we do.
