I will vouch for Trish's friend - the crab cakes ARE amazing! I always intend to try something different, but end up getting the crab cakes every time, and just tasting whatever my husband orders.

Favorite app is the spicy tuna tartar

i love this place, their crawfish beignets are absoluely delicious for an appetizer.
Their menu changes- last time i had a boneless pork roast with apples and a side of burbon mac n cheese- it was to die for! the steak with chimi churri is excellent, too, as the PP mentioned.
Enjoy and don't forget your bottle(s) of wine!

Nicholas Roberts is my favorite restaurant in Norwalk - first rate food, unpretentious decor, friendly service.

Some of my personal favorites are: Mixed salad greens with pear. This is not overly special, just a refreshing salad that I personally like. Keep in mind I rarely eat appetizers and keep it light. There are many interesting appetizer choices though, and usually some good specials.

I love short ribs, and their version, braised in chianti, is excellent. Steak served with chimichurri sauce is delicious. Organic chicken is good too, but I prefer their beef offerings. A friend once had the lump crab cakes and said they were amazing. Chocolate souffle is a rich ending.

A few things to keep in mind:

Cash only, no credit cards accepted.

It's BYOB and with only a $5 corkage fee, so it's a great value for diners. Bring what you like and save some $$$.

Don't expect fancy decor. It's a quirky place because it has a casual urban schoolhouse vibe, but the food is akin to 4* dining.

If Exec Chef Rob Troilo is in the house say hi to him. He's nice, funny, and appreciates interaction with guests.
