Gift Card for friends....sort of.

leeniebeanie Sep 28, 2011 07:26 PM

I'd like to purchase a gift card for dinner for a couple that are getting married. They live in Austin, I live in Minneapolis. They are friends of an ex, so I don't want to go overboard. I'd like to stay in the $75-$80 range. I've done a little digging and the places that interest me, are out of that price range (Parkside, Wink, Uchi, Congress). I'm open to just about any type of food, but it would be nice if there were some vegetarian options available. Also, it would be great if it was the sort of place that was maybe a little romantic and not too casual. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

As a vegetarian, I'd say that Eastside Cafe, Fino, or Blue Dahlia might be good options. Also, just throwing it out there, we had an out-of-town family member buy us a gift card to Antonelli's Cheese Shop and it was one of our favorite gifts ever received.

Mother's is also good for vegetarian. Antonelli's Chees Shop is a fantastic idea!! Cheese, chocolate, and wine or beer... you can't really go wrong. Uchiko is the sister restaurant which is a little more affordable. East Side Showroom, although not vegetarian, does have some great veggie friendly options and the ambiance is definitely awesome.

I second the Antonelli's idea. I may steal that. :)
