I am coning to Montreal tomorrow for the weekend and was very disappointed to hear that my favorite place for breakfast and coffee has had had a fire on Sherbrooke Street and is closed. We are staying at the De La Montagne hotel and need a simlar recommendation to replace it and one that we can walk to. Thanks.

If you go a few blocks west, you can get the best coffee in the city at Myriade. Otherwise, there is a JavaU on Stanley, and an MB& Co right next door to it. And there's always Vasco da Gama on Peel - I am guessing they have croissants and coffee in the mornings, although I could be wrong, but considering they open at 7 am, it's a strong possibility.

The next closest is Central Station and I don't want to go that far - I will have limited time. I am looking for something between De Maissoneuve and Sherbrooke and not further east than Peel - so something on Crescent, Mountian, Drummond, or PEel.

There is an Au Pain Dore at 1415 rue Peel - that is the closest chain boulangerie

M cafe is near your hotel on de maisonneuve and is pleasant place for coffee, dessert, breakfast. if proximity is priority. If its just a coffee, tea, hot chocolate there is suite 88 nearby. Other than that favourite patisseries tend to be further away.
