Destination Dining
My husband and I just moved to San Francisco and are already in love with our foodie city. We're getting plenty of ideas from the board on local restaurants. Can you help us with destination dining? Where are the great places to go within an hour or two of the city? Amazing drives and restaurant views are a plus. Thanks!

Rancho Nicasio, Duarte's Tavern (Pescadero) and Rocker Oysterfeller's (Valley Ford) are all worth a trip. None of them have amazing food, but when you add the trip into the equation, it is the basis of a nice day.

Drive south on Highway 1 for just about a half an hour and visit La Costanera in Montara. Best combination of views and good food around. It's Peruvian, good seafood and other options too. Their happy hour is very popular and so are weekends, but we have been luck y to be able to eat at the bar without reservations a couple of times. There is a nice outdoor patio too.
You can also continue further south to Princeton Harbor and Half Moon Bay for more restaurant choices. A search on this board will provide lots of recommendations. Cafe Gibraltar is great in Princeton/El Granada.
