So - respect where respect is due. Good job, guys!

...Now. Any glaring absences??! What would you add?

Good list, gonna print that out and seek out the items I have missed.

Off the top of my head I would add egg tarts from Central Grand and the lamb samdwich from Artigiano.

        Haha nice Deedub.

76 and 77 were exactly what I was going to say as well as a mention for Las Tortillas.

        I'd probably include:

        Muhumara from Aidas

        Chicken Shawarma from Taza

Kanban or Kurotan Ramen at Muku

Kieths special sausage sandwich at Keiths Deli

        De Nico's sandwich at Peppinos

I'm a longtime fan of Fiasco Gelato. I would definitely put them on the list, particularly for their PB & J gelato. Mmmm.

Big omission: Phil & Sebastian lattes.

I don't know why but I just LOVE the Health Bar from Sunterra. Oats, dried fruits, coconut... not very dessert-y but I find myself craving it. I might be the only one. It's one of the food things I would miss if I moved away from Calgary.

I prefer M for Macaron's macarons over Yann (#33) but that's just me.

Oh, I would also add Broxburn tomatoes... those things are incredible though since they're grown outside of Calgary, I guess they don't qualify.

What about Jimmy's? I would definitely add Chicken Shawarma from Jimmy's to the list. Capped off with a piece of baklava...perfection.

Now anyone want to make a list for Edmonton??

              Wow summersupper! Awesome list - love it! Thank you. You did miss one IMHO;

Beef Dip at Cowtown Beef Shack

Fab list—can't way to try some of the recommendations!

                I'd add:
                • parmesan beef at Gaucho's
                • masaman curry at Delicious Thai

Yeah, I know this is a dumb question but I will ask anyway.

I have one meal in Calgary, tonight. Where would you go if you could go out once in Calgary.

Anything from a chip wagon or burger truck to super $$$ fine dining place. Sorry, but I only have one night and I need some 411.

My go-to restaurant is District Gastropub but here are a few other popular options:

                    Casual:

District Gastropub (Local, seasonal, has its own microbrewery)

                    Casbah (Morroccan food)

Vin Room (small plates, huge wine selection)

Ox & Angela (newest spot in town... haven't been yet, going on the 14th. Been getting great reviews)

                    Fancier:

Notable (they take walk-ins but you might have to wait if you don't have a reservation on a Friday night)

Rouge (not sure if you'd get in without a reservation)

                    The Living Room

River Cafe (maybe... the weather is not great tonight. It's in the middle of a park so a good weather night is preferable)

If you love a lot of meat, I'd suggest Charcut or one of two Brazilian BBQ restaurants (Bolero or Gaucho).

                      Thanks for the info:

We've narrowed it down to Divino, District, or Notable.

I guess you would stick with District, right?
