80th Birthday dinner in Central NJ?

It's my mother's 80th birthday next month and my sister and family will be in town to celebrate on a Saturday night. We're a party of 10, which includes two grandchildren under 8 but the rest are adults or have adult palates/appetites. My mother's first choice was Origins Thai in Somerville, but they can't manage a group of that size on a Saturday night. We're all adventurous eaters, and with small kids someplace not too upscale would be best. Any suggestions?

Asia Star Cafe 4060 Asbury Ave in Tinton Falls. They are never too crowded and the food is always great. They serve Chinese, Thai, and Japanese. Prices are good, too. Informal atmosphere. BYOB

Wonder Seafood in Edison--excellent Cantonese, big tables with lazy susans that could easily hold 10 or more.

Why not the Origin in Basking Ridge, they can certainly handle a party of ten and the space is quite an upgrade from Somerville

Matt's red rooster in Flemington is good and has a private room upstairs that can hold ten .
Maggianos by the Bridgewater mall is definitely kid friendly and can accommodate your party but the food is just average.
