Anyone been to Seed Bistro? in search of veggies as the star

andytseng Sep 26, 2011 04:28 PM

I recently took a trip to Napa and was blown away by Ubuntu. I started looking into restaurants that do creative and interesting dishes that highlight vegetables, and came across news that Seed Bistro had just opened up with some positive reviews (on Yelp).

I'm not looking for a place that uses seitan or meat replacement products drowned in sauce. I just want to eat some well-prepared, delicious veggies. Anything like that in LA? More specifically, just a casual place for lunch or dinner (in other words, don't tell me to try the vegetarian tasting menu at Providence)

Go to Gjelina. Order the broccolini, the cauliflower, the asparagus. Try some of the salads. The gnocchi in brown butter. They source well, the woodburning oven does wonders, and they aren't at all shy with the garlic. Start with a pizza and end with the butterscotch with sea salt.
