SHO: Perhaps the best Kumamoto oyster preparation I've ever had

Attended a special event at SHO Shaun Hergatt recently and was served a dish containing two meaty, saline Kumamotos in a cucumber gelee. After the first mouthful, I realized I was eating perhaps the best oyster preparation I had ever tasted.

It turns out this dish is on his current seasonal menu and is described as Kumamoto Oysters with
Oyster Leaf, Junsai, Young Ginger, Summer Granité.

Very highly recommended.

  1. Looks like they just changed their menu. Now, dinner's 5 courses for $85. Unfortunately, the Kumamoto Oysters are gone too.

      Yes, I noticed that. A $10 price increase is not unreasonable for this caliber restaurant.
      Besides, if you book through, you get 30% off your tab.

        Considering that the dinner prix fixe was increased to 5 courses from the original 3 courses, I agree, the $10 price increase isn't unreasonable at all.
