Our favorites Cocina 38.Era Ora and John Gray's have closed. What now? Any places that are worth trying?

For authentic Mexican, try La Mission or La Pesca. For mexican- french, try Cactus on 30th ave just north of Constituentes. Frederique, the owner, is from Madagascar but schooled in France. She does warm and chilled versions of chiles en nogada this time of year - the only ones in town - try the chilled. For Asian fusion try Babes, also their swedish meatballs and mojitos. Pricey non-mexican, but comfortable - Wicky's.
This economy, the drug violence, and the usual slow summer is really taking its toll in the area.
