Ad-Lib GeoCafé: Finally Someplace GREAT in the Far-North Burbs
Lindenhurst sounds like the oddest place on earth to open a fine dining restaurant, but Ad-Lib GeoCafé‚ just opened up and it's just wonderful. Owner/Chef Rick Starr is a product of Antioch, and was the executive chef at Kirsches Restaurant in Lake Geneva. The concept of the restaurant is to use small, family-owned farms that practice sustainable organic farming, while also flying in fresh seafood & other interesting things using the same farming practice. The menu changes slightly from day to day,but you can see a sample of some of the recent offerings at their website (http://www.adlibgeocafe.com). If you're open to it, the Chef's Spontaneous Tasting Menu is a great way to go.
The kitchen is 100% open to the dining space making the space both intimate and a little exciting. I've been a couple of times and know others who've been more numerous in the short time they have been open, but I have yet to meet someone who didn't love the place.
Ad-Lib GeoCafé‚ is located at 475 S. Route 45, in Lindenhurst. Yes, I know... Lindenhurst. It is seriously worth your drive to check out.
