dinner tonight (Sun) near SF zoo
Any recommendations? Best choices are Italian or American/California as I have 2 small kids with limited palates. Mix of veg and non-veg. Thanks!

Has anyone tried Ristorante Marcello on Taraval?

I really like Ristorante Marcello but Pizza Place on Noriega is better for kids. Outerlands is only open for brunch on Sunday

Maybe Outerlands? That's high on my to-try list but I'm seldom out that way. Lots of enthusiastic reports here.

That looked awesome, but it didn't open until 6 -- too late for us. So, we ended up going to Park Chow instead. Really tasty (except for my husband's veggie burger) and very kid-friendly. Of course, it was the Folsom St Fair so traffic getting back onto the bridge was miserable, so we ended up being super late anyway!

If pleasing the kids is a primary concern, I think the Pizza Place on Noriega is a good bet. Very casual but the pizza is solid.

I had some less than stellar slices and a meatball hero at lunch recently, that made me wonder if the quality has slid or I should just avoid lunch and/or slices.
Had a better experience at dinner with a whole pie a year ago.
