Restaurant Near Gaylord National Hotel, National Harbor Maryland

Open to any cuisine and price point, but it needs to be quiet enough to carry on a conversation and within walking distance (or short cab) of the hotel. Thank you for all suggestions. I don't know this area at all. Thank you!

I have eaten at 2, Rosa Mexicana and at some sports-bar type place - Each was very loud. I echo Katecm's idea and take the 5-minute cab to Old Town (Vermillion IS good - I'd also add Bastille to the more quiet restaurants, and Restaurant Eve of course - the Latter being the most expensive but also the best)

Please do a search on this board on Gaylord, or National Harbor. Cuisine options there and nearby (e.g. Old Town Alexandria) have been discussed many times. Best of luck.

I haven't head good things about any restaurants out there. Since you're willing to cab, I'd go to Old Town Alexandria (which is closer to the Gaylord than DC proper). There are some lovely restaurants there, but Vermillion is one that really fits the quiet bill.
