You can choose two.
Do Rainbow Drive-in for plate lunch and Nico's Pier 38 for dinner.
I am not a luau fan other than a local church luau.
Hank's Haute Dogs is good, but not a place I would skip a more local (as in menu) place for.
Murphy's Bar and Grill is a great place for locals (residents), but is the kind of food you can get anywhere in CA or the US mainland.

A very early dinner since Nico's is only open until 5:00. I would pick them for lunch, furikake ahi or another of his specials with fish. Hank's because he's got some great special daily dogs. Highway Inn for local style food. I'm weary already of Poke Stop and the greasy eggplant fries.

re: manomin
are they open till 5 now? I have a friend who gets off work at 3, they were always just closing up as we got there, sometimes we were the last customers at 3:30/3:45. Either way, yes.. nicos for lunch, rainbow for dinner, too bad waiola moved all the way up kapahulu cause you could really do some damage to yourself with a rainbow plate lunch followed by a Waiola Shave Ice. I love rainbow, its responsible for at least 10% of the pounds I need to remove, but sometimes I wonder if mainland people really 'get it.' The rice, the mac salad, the gravy all over. Damn, I better stop before I end up there for breakfast... LOL (oh yes I have)

1. Nico's (Furukake Ahi)
2. Hank's Haute Dogs
3. Rainbow Drive In (mixed plate)
4. Poke Stop (Poke w/ side of eggplant fries)
5. Murphy's Bar and Grill
6. Highway Inn
7. Germaine's Luau (gakkk)please note that the hobron lane address for Germaine's is the business office, the luau itself is out at Kalaeloa (formerly Barbers Point)
