Le Relais de Venise Promotion
Got an e-mail from Le Relais de Venise L'entrecote about this promotion and thought I'd share with 'hounds - they are offering a complimentary bottle of house wine, red or white, every Monday until October 31. You do need a voucher, which I think you can access from their twitter. The e-mail said to forward to family and friends, so I'm sharing it with my CH "friends" :)
It's not somewhere you go all the time, but once in a while I really like their salad and steak with fries for lunch. Their desserts are pretty good too, especially their vacherin and profiteroles.

re: coasts
tonight was a disaster from the start. things got off on the wrong foot when the hostess attempted to seat us at absolutely the worst table in a nearly empty dining room. we didn't sit there, but our request to be seated elsewhere led to a full blown argument. hoping to move on, i suggested to the hostess that we just start over...
again, our purpose of dining here was to like the place enough to consider it for our inexpensive rehearsal dinner. we were willing to forget the service issue and focus on the meal, itself. the salad was abysmal - overdressed, wilted lettuce with walnuts. fine - we were in it for the steak, not the salad. the steaks came and were well cooked, perfectly tender and very flavorful with that sauce, but the portion is really quite small. even with the second serving, we felt that we had been had.
yeah, we had a free bottle of wine. yeah, we were fed steak and then steak again. yeah, the fries were unlimited. ultimately, we felt that $26 could be better spent almost anywhere else and that this great deal wasn't much of a deal at all.
we took photos, but only to look back on with laughter after the wedding is all said and done.

re: coasts
Sorry for the late reply - been out of town with little time for internet. For me it's a casual lunch place. I happen to like their salad, find their portions adequate and price fair - they do scratch a certain itch for me once in a while. Not that you're considering it now anyway, but I definitely wouldn't have recommended it as a rehearsal dinner place.
Besides, weren't you considering Daniel, EMP, and the likes for your rehearsal dinner at one point?
