i am looking for fresh kencur that is used in indonesia cooking...Kencur (kaempferia galanga) is a rhizome related to ginger ..some call it lesser galanga...i am from atlanta georgia...anyone can help?...thank you so very much

I think that DeKalb Farmer's Mkt has had this at times, too. I assume you're talking about the same galanga used in Thai cooking (looks like fat ginger with bands around the roots).

i think what u mean is galanga...yup ..for thai cooking like tom yum soup and else..this one is a diff kind...call kaempferia galanga l.....great for cooking (certain food) and medicine as well...thank you for your info,,i will find out and let you guys know...

Maybe try Super H Mart. I think that if you find this in Atlanta it will be somewhere in Doraville or the Buford Highway corridor.
