Ogunquit--Perkins Cove Jackies Too

  • 6

We like this place for its view of the ocean, perky service, and better than average food. Perkins Cove is a deadly tourist trap, totally devoid of any charm it might have had 25 years ago, but if you ignore the parking lot that takes up most of the space, Jackie's Too is a good choice. Halibut and onion soup was tasty, as were the fried clams. Decent lobster roll. The breeze off the ocean was delicious.

  1. "totally devoid of any charm it might have had 25 years ago" !!!!! Are we forgetting the spectacular ocean views?

Jackie's Too - I'll basically agree with your recommendation (and add that it has definitely stepped up its food and cleanliness game in the last 2 years).

      1. Wow, guess that's why the chowder is so good.

Exactly--what does this information have to do with the quality of the food?

        1. Wow! I'd never heard this. Happened in 1990 - I just read an old story on the internet.
So, she was acquitted due to battered woman syndrome - I have to support her, after hearing that. A jury set her free so that's what I am going to go with. I don't think you, Bellachefa, should be putting a post like your's in here. Can be misleading ...

Thanks mmocipi, I guess I was feeling a little curmudgeonly after visiting the Ogunquit Museum, and seeing paintings of the Cove from the 1930's, when it was still a little fishing community. On a Saturday, the natural setting can be overwhelmed by the traffic and crowds. Jackie's view is spectacular. Have yet to try MC Perkins Cove.
