Update on Olive's

Looks like a few more months, but the place has been gutted:

    Ho hum.

Tell me when Jasper's is reopening.

It looks like Olives got an apostrophe transplant.

The sort-of-news here is that English got yet another 90 days from the city to do something before they took his license away. In the words of Bullwinkle, "This time for sure!"

Excellent news on Olives. While others may differ in their opinions, I always found it an enjoyable place for dinner.

And apologies to MC that everyone on this board does not conform to his writing style (additional apostrophes) or username preferences ("foodie" in my username)...

in this case, an apostrophe is not part of the name of the restaurant. it's a plural, not an indication of ownership.

that being said, if and when it ever does re-open it will not be a reincarnation of the flagship, but a new concept.

Um, you can see the restaurant's sign in the photo of the article you posted. It says "Olives". This is not a question of writing styles: that's its name.

And I am resigned to "foodie" being a widely-used term. I just always agreed with Jim Leff's take on it.

And here I was thinking it was the sister restaurant to Popeye's.
