Searching for a quality caterer -- but on a budget!

I'm helping a friend wedding plan, and she has a serious budget to stick to.

Does anyone know of any quality caterers that are inexpensive?

She's hoping to do a wedding lunch at about $15/per person - for 150 people. I don't think that's possible, but we'll exhaust all options.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

TIA!

I hate to frequently answer a question with another question but, "what part of the greater L.A. Metropolis is the event to be held"?

Example: It might make a meaningful difference when factoring in labor costs for them.

          Search Criteria:

          150 people
          $15 per person
          In Pasadena
          Quality caterers that are inexpensive.
          You've Exhausted All Options

With those limitations, you can't be too picky about your food choices.

          All India Cafe
          39 S. Fair Oaks Ave.
          Pasadena
          (626) 440-0309

Their website says Catering Specialist. I've talked with their manager and he refered me to his brother the owner who makes all those decisions. They just might be able work something out for your friend in budget. I would suggest you review their website, have somebody go over and try their food, and give him a call:

          Santokh Singh at (626) 688-1745

          The other possibility is:

          Zankou Chicken
          1296 E. Colorado Blvd.
          Pasadena
          (626) 405-1502
          www.zankouchicken.com

I called them but the Manager, who handles all "special" orders, is out till Monday. So you'll have to call him/her.

You could at least get a Salad, a Combo Plate, and a desert from somewhere for everyone; maybe a few sharable apps as well.

Any other choices at $15 per?

Mexican, Chinese or Thai local options?

Below is a link to a chowhoud discussion on Indian Restaurants in Pasadena. You'll find 3 people, so far, are recomending the chow at All India Cafe.

Auntie Em's Kitchen does a really nice job, has fabulous food and they really work with you if you're on a budget. I'd give them a call!

              The In & Out Truck

Maybe sandwiches & salads from Clementine

Or what about a Taco truck, I know a guy on Valley Blvd. He does parties all the time. He does tacos , burritos, mulitas, grilled onions and the Best Homemade Horchata.
