Hey Guys!!

I'm searching for a place to have a group dinner in NYC. But I'd like to go to a place that has great views. Any ideas?

Group size? Budget? When? What kind of food? People will be more willing to make recommednations if they have all the info they need.

20 people. Open budget. Looking for an sophisticated venue. Any type of food.

"Open budget" can mean a lot. I mean, you could get a private dining room at Per Se (though I don't know how big it is), but that'll likely cost you ten grand once you factor in the wine and such.

Asiate could also be an option. Another nice Central Park view from above.

One of the most famous (and spectacular) views in the city is in Brooklyn, at The River Cafe - http://www.rivercafe.com/ - won't link below because it's in BK. Still very pricey, but not Per Se pricey. Probably about the same as Asiate.

One possibility is Water's Edge in Long Island City, which has unbeatable views of Manhattan. Other good ones on the water include River Cafe in Brooklyn, The Water Club, and Harbor Lights.

A Voce at Columbus circle but you have to ask to be close to the window when you make the reservation - this over looks central park. Another is Robert which is the restaurant at the top of the museum of art and design it also overlooks central park. Also the Modern or at least the bar room there has a view of the sculpture garden at the MOMA.

Thanks everyone!!! It's a corporate event- and we have a rather large budget for this budget. All of your suggestions have been a great help.

The above are all good suggestions; one (and maybe two) other(s): Terrace in the Sky (www.terraceinthesky.com) on the top of a building on the Columbia campus; absolutely outstanding views and terrific food and service. The other, and I give this reluctantly only because of the travel involved, would be the New Leaf Restaurant up in Ft Tryon Park; unique views and setting, and memorable food and service. Please let us know what you decide on, and how it all works out.
