Italian deli
I'm looking for a good, authentic Italian deli in Manhattan that also has comfortable seating, as opposed to having to fund a park bench. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I've not been, but read quite a few posts here about Salumeria Rosi in UWS. Perhaps you can do search and read for yourself.

I don't think Salumeria Rosi is a "deli" although I can't be sure what the OP means...

The fastest way to know is to google. The word Salumeria, is equivalent to "delicatessen".

Salumeria is simply a shop which sells salumi....but in any case Salumeria Rosi may be far from what the OP is looking for in a "deli."

No. Salumeria is an Italian delicatessen. They do not just sell salumi.
The salumi may be one of the main products, but a salumeria nowadays is where everything from prepared salads, other cured meats, cheeses, beverages/wines, breads, sandwiches, olives, other prepared foods, and canned/bottled condiments are sold.

I know that OP is merely looking for a hero sandwich. But just the same, here are some salumeria in Italy that I've been to recently and are pretty much how I described it earlier, i.e. they don't just sell salumi.
One of the better salumeria in Bologna:

This one in Milan is heavy into wines: http://www.lasalumeriadelvino.it/mang...

Sorry -- I should have been more specific. I'm looking for good places to get a good Italian hero from a deli, like a Todaro Bros. but with seating.

That's what I thought you meant by "deli" - Salumeria Rosi isn't that.

There is a little bit of seating at Salumeria Bielese just south of Penn Station.
