Andrea Nguyen has helped San Francisco-based Chronicle Books in the development of this app to identify 100 top Asian food ingredients. Photos, sound, guide to pronunciation, etc.

According to Nguyen, "Th[e] factors [of confusion and need for recommendations in searching for Asian ingredients] seeded the Asian Market Shopper (AMS) app, a nifty new multimedia resource that helps you understand, navigate, and use Asian ingredients."

Do you use and love it? I think it looks terrific!

THANKS Andrea and Chronicle Books!

Wondering if anybody has used this much? Is it useful if you have some experience shopping in Asian Markets - or is it directed at pure novices?

What would be great is if there was an app where I could take a picture of a label and get told what it was... or maybe there is...

It looks great! Very happy to see in the link that the Android version will be coming out, I'm sure I'll be picking this one up.
      Thanks for sharing.

did you buy it? ($3.99) Seems handy, but I always get buyers remorse for apps similar to this, when I can use the free google app to lookup info
