Found at Sprouts Granada Hills @ Chatsworth and Zelzah (opened 2 weeks ago)
ground elk, venison, wild boar, antelope, and bison 3 ways: ground, steak and patties.
In the frozen bins next to the meat/fish dept.

Not my cup o' tea but, maybe yours...

Also sashimi grade tuna @ a very reasonable price. I bought a nice chunk for 2.90$

(The Sprouts near me in Valencia doesn't have these)

  1. I was in the Pasadena store Thursday afternoon and noticed they had some game meat there, though I didn't notice that much variety. Wild boar would be good to find; I'd love to try duplicating the WB ragù I had from Drago Centro at the LAT "Food Noir" event. Best thing there - I kept trying it several times just to make sure …

Harmony Farms in La Crescenta is much closer to me than Perris, and though I have yet to visit them I'm told they have all the wild stuff you might want, though at a price.

I don't know, Will. I can't think of another source for African Lion meat in the greater Southern California area. Can you? http://www.exoticmeatmarket.com/aflim...

No, but please note that I did say "all the wild stuff you may WANT". I can't imagine any sane person wanting lion, at least none other than those clinging to some ancestral superstition. "Eat lion, be brave as lion," that kind of thing. We have however seen both fox and armadillo in the freezers at Hawaii Supermarket. "Eat road kill, be road kill"??

Will, if you enjoy wild boar I could recommend the wild board burger at 1321 Taproom Bistro in Torrance. It was my first boar burger, really good. Came with fried onion strings.

Or ... maybe I can't recommend it ... it's not on the online menu at the moment ... but maybe it switches around.
