Their lunch buffet is believe it or not a really good way to sample. At dinner, I usually get aushak (dumplings) with chicken kabob. Their flatbread is delicious, and I think they have the best hummus I've ever had. DH usually gets one of the meatball dishes. This is a great place for vegetarians.

Saw the article in the Pi Press that they are struggling financially - that's a shame because this place does make some great food and would hate to see them go.

All of the lamb dishes are great.

We don't have a lot of Afghan places left in the TC's, after Da Afghan closed... Is Afghan Restaurant in Crystal still open? I was thinking no, but their website is still up. The phone just rings and rings, so hard to say. http://www.afghanrestaurantonline.com/

no, they closed a bit ago. I think there's a new place set up there now.

Yes they closed last spring and I really miss it. There is a soul food place there now that I've been wondering about. I'll have to check it out.

Thanks for the tip on Khyber Pass...I've heard good things and wanted to give it a try. I'll make it a point to get there soon.

I love the Khyber Pass, and used to be a regular customer. But I haven't been there for a year or two because of my own laziness. This is a good reminder to visit again - lots - because it would be a HUGE loss to the community if this place had to close. I love the aushak, the chicken kabobs, the dahl, and each and every one of the vegetable dishes (spinach, eggplant, okra, etc.).

I'm going for dinner next week!

I agree whole-heartedly. When the baby/children's shop Peapods was down the road, I'd always go to Khyber Pass for lunch when I stopped in to buy some more diapers, etc. but lately I just haven't gone. I would be sad for sure if they didn't make it. Will go tomorrow!
            Agreed that best hummus!!!
