Big belly fried clams

Where do I get the BEST in the Boston/Cambridge area. Willing to go to N. Shore if I must.

Belle Isle has good clams, but I only got them once since the lobster roll is SO outstanding.

Shae -- the best clams I've had recently were at Neptune! I admit I love the whole North shore experience but if you want something very local, these big bellied guys were just about perfect.

Always nice to hear Yumyum's take on fried clams. May I add the ones at Island Creek Oyster Bar?

I went to the Clam Box in Wollaston Beach (Quincy) earlier this summer, and I thought they were excellent. Fried scallops were great too. I am not sure if this place is related to the location in Ipswich, despite the same name.

          No relation at all.

BTW, Boston Deals (the one run by boston.com) is offering a $10 coupon for $5 at the Wollaston Clam Box through Thursday 9/29.

My mom is from Quincy and we always make a point of stopping at the Clam Box when we're visiting down that way. Love their fried clams.

The Choate Bridge Pub in Ipwich has delicious clams on par with (if not better than) those at the Clam Box - minus the wait, plus the free popcorn and very cold beer! :) And note that the appetizer portion is ENORMOUS!

Made it to Farnham's in Essex a couple of weeks ago - terrific big clams, perfectly fried. And that chowder, it is worth the trip on its own. I live in Cambridge, and can't think of anywhere here that I'd go for either of those items.

I had clams @ Farnhams a few weeks ago. Very disappointing. Small and over cooked. :(

I'd make the trek to Ipswich and go to The Clam Box.
