Hi Montreal,

I am coming up from Vermont with my wife in a few weeks to see some music at La Tulipe (4530 PAPINEAU) and I'm curious if there are any fantastic restaurants relatively in that same area. We make it to Montreal a few times a year. We love it! It's amazing to be able to drive only an hour and a half to such a fun city. We've eaten at Le Trois Petit Bouchon, Garde Manger, Joe Beef, and La Salle A Manger over the past few years and they've all been excellent, or at least way better than anything here in Burlington.

We'll only be up for one night this time around, and it's a Tuesday night, so I'm curious if there are any restaurants that you all would recommend. We'll be eating pretty early since we need to be at La Tulipe by around 8pm.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

  1. Le Chien Fumant is fairly close, and opens at 6 pm on Tuesdays. As long as you tell them that you have to be at La Tulipe by 8, you should be fine - 6 pm on a weekday it will likely still be fairly quiet.

Is just up the street from La Tulipe, a six minute walk according to Google.

And on Mount Royal E there are scads of restaurants of stripes.

Thanks to you both for these suggestions. They both look great! And they're new for us, so that's exciting. I know we're thinking pretty early, probably around 6pm, but any clue on which place tends to be a bit more lively?

at 6pm, it's quite early for 'lively", especially on a tuesday night!
