New England Hot Dog Buns

juli5122 Sep 21, 2011 02:26 PM

Hey everyone, Sweetbay Supermarket (in Pasadena that is) now has New England style hot dog buns in their bakery. I'm thinking lobster rolls for dinner :) I'm so excited now I don't have to wait for relatives to ship them down.

Haven't tried them, but the SONIC drive-ins are advertising a Chicago Hot Dog@ $1.99

Yes, I ended up doing a shrimp roll as lobster was a little cost prohibitive. So good.

The ones I am talking about are made by Rosen and are a seeded (poppyseed) roll. Those look good though.

I gave up trying to find them years ago...I just buy the bakery rolls at Publix and carefully slice off the sides (with the bottom facing up). Mission accomplished!
