Good Place to Take My Boss For Dinner

  • 5

Hi everyone,
I'll be in DC for business this week and am hoping for a recommendation for a good place to go to dinner with my boss. He likes good food that is not too frou-frou and likes a place where we can watch a game on some sort of bar TV. I like foodie destinations with chefs worth checking out. I know that's a little amorphous, but hopefully someone has some good suggestions!

Thanks,
Michael

  1. In America Eats Tavern's previous iteration, Cafe Atlantico, there was a TV in the bar area along with some high-tops. If someone can confirm that it's still there, it could be a good place - you get to try Jose Andres's new concept, while your boss gets to enjoy American food with a bit of history.

The TV was still there last week.

    2. The bar area of Ris has tvs (2 I think to be exact). You can sit at the bar or there are a couple of tables (high tops mostly) in the bar area.

The food there is very very good and sticks solidly to the American (sometimes comfort food) genre. I think you both will be happy there. Some of my favorite dishes lately have been the chicken pot pie, meatloaf, and mussels.

Btw---for some reason the Rasika address popped up (I think it's because I typed in that name originally). The address for Ris is 2275 L Street NW. http://risdc.com/
