Vegetarian chopped liver

Anyone have a good recipe?

  1. I have used various recipes I found online, and the results have always been good. I like the type based on mushrooms and onions, with maybe some nuts.

    1. How can it be Chopped Liver if it's vegetarian?

        Perhaps vegetarian "chopped liver" or vegetarian mock chopped liver would have been a better way to write it. Just a vegetarian version of a common dish. Obviously it's not actually made from actual liver, just as vegetarian chicken isn't made from chicken.

      2. I like the one based on green beans and almonds ( I think there is one in Moosewood).

          I have used the Moosewood recipe successfully by using shredded carrots instead of green beans and it makes a very tasty paté. Not "chopped-livery", but very good nevertheless.

            Green beans, sauteed onions (lots), chopped almonds or walnuts: blend to desired conssistency. Delicious.

              I make one with mushrooms, onions, and walnuts. It is really yummy.
