Osso Buco Uptown Worth a trip-even for free?

A friend bought one of the coupon things, dinner for two (wine included) at the above restaurant, and can't use it. (Expires on the 28th and he is out town.) He gave it to me to us (gratis), but my philosophy is "even if it's free, if it's no good, I don't want it."

Can we get a decent meal there? Not five star, but somewhat enjoyable. We live on Roosevelt Island so it is a bit of a trek for us (wife is handicapped).

TIA

I haven't eaten there for several years but I certainly don't recall it being terrible. What have you got to lose?

          It wasn't worth it!

          Cabs $20.00
          Tip 20.00
          Tax 5.00
Food/wine Priceless, that is it wasn't worth anything!

            Curious, what did you have?

I had a salad, and veal and peppers, no side by the way. Chocolate moose for desert.

Wife had clams, lobster ravioli, same desert. "$40 bottle of wine" was a $9.99 bottle of merlot. When I offered to pay extra for a bottle off the wine list, I was turned down. Service was capable, but food was no better than you'd get in your local pizza by the slice place. Not a "$135 meal" by any stretch of the imagination.

Somebody had to take one for the team. I suppose, thanks for doing that.

I get a lot of tempting emails with 50% off and other discount offers and more often than not, the restaurants are totally unknown to me nor do I find anything about them on this board.
