Dinner/drinks near Union Square Bowlmor

Will be having an outing to Bowlmor in Union Square. Any sugggestions for nearby spots for tasty,fun "american food" at about 50bucks a head for drinks and food.

How many people will you be? How much do you plan to drink? That $50pp could easily be spent all on cocktails... Do you have a ballpark cost for just food only?

I would say 50 bucks for food with alcohol on top of that. Someone came up with Rosa Mexicano which I think is a bit expensive and not inspiring . I am thinking a bar with good food or a casual restaurant. Thanks

How large is your party? Will you be making a reservation? Or just kind of winging it? $50 for just food and not tax, tip, drinks means you do have a fair amount of choices.

If you're looking for a restaurant with good food, you could walk in at the front room/bar at Maialino or Gramercy Tavern. Maybe ABC Kitchen or Union Square Café. Or try Rye House for a more bar like atmosphere.

Defintely looking for more bar like atmosphere.I love Maialino but trying to think of the"group". There will probably be around 8-10 of us. I prefer to make reservations

Not sure if money will work out but ABC Kitchen is worth the trip. Stay away from Rosa Mexicana.. TERRIBLE and so overpriced!

Ippudo is a ramen place on 4th ave not far from union sq. affordable, nice, good- perfect for what u want!

You'd walk into Ippudo with a group of 10 people? They don't really take reservations in advance (only day of, in person IIRC).
