In the long run, Will will have the better career. Paul may be a "big effin deal" now, but he'll be working for Will one day.
+1 for the outtakes.
Also, has anyone ever done a "Where are they now" feature on these shows? For Top Chef and some of the others, it might not be as interesting since those people are already more accomplished chefs, but for some of the nuts and hacks GR gets, I'd love to see how they end up. Would love to see what someone like Elise is doing in five years -- she is competent, sure, but who would put up with her?

re: ellenost
Wikipedia has season summaries as well as what each winning chef has done since winning HK. Most either didn't take the job or left shortly after taking the position.
Season 5 was Danny (the guy who broke his hand and was in a cast) -
"Danny worked at Fornaletto for a few months and resigned in August 2009. He and his longtime girlfriend Devon Dempsey have moved back to Florida where Danny will pursue his career elsewhere. Danny later returned once again as one of the special VIP guests for Hell's Kitchen's "black-tie" 100th dinner service on October 13, 2010."

Totally loved the part at the end where Ramsay told Elise to stop being such a bitch. Which will clearly never happen.
I confess we were scratching our heads at the decision, and Gordon's comment that it wasn't Will's best service. It could have been the worst service ever with the kitchen shutting down and his solid and stand out performances throughout the show should have elevated him to the final, particularly over Paul who seemed to have a LOT of bumps along the way, including having a crappy menu going into the final. A disappointing choice overall. Will seemed a much better chef but also a better, more solid and reliable leader while Paul just seems to get screamy and panicky. Ah well, as others have said, as long as it wasn't Elise. She started to seem like a barking chihuahua after awhile, just yap yap yap, she never shuts up and it's never productive.
Our show skipped a huge chunk in the middle for some reason, did anyone else's? They were at the big theater doing the cookoff with the different BLT chefs judging, then went to commercial, and when they came back, they were in HK and Will had just made his first pick of Tommy. So we surmised he won the challenge, but it was disappointing not to see it, or see the brigade returning.

Elise needed to be told that she's a bitch, but it won't do her any good. I'm curious whether she still has a job. Will is a much better chef than Paul. He won the tasting with the BLT honchos. His actual menu was also better executed than Paul's. I guess the x-factor is responses from the diners. Who knows what kind of idiots are invited to try the food at the finale.

Based on the edit that Will got it looks like picking Krupa was his downfall. Ramsay told Will it wasn't one of his better services and the only real issue seemed to be Krupa putting nothing out on the fish station. Will's menu also seemed a lot better from top to bottom...that tomato "carpaccio" that Paul presented looked horrific.
Will and Paul was a toss up, I wouldn't have a problem with either one running a kitchen.
Can someone tell me what the deal is with Tommy's eyeballs. Whenever he does an interview piece they're as big as teacup saucers like he's trying to burn a hole through the TV.
I'll confess that I totally have a thing for Chef Andi, she needs to smile more!
Did anyone else recognize Cliff Crooks from BLT Steak New York during the final head to head challenge? He was the chef from Top Chef season 2 that was kicked off the show for getting drunk and manhandling Marcel (tried to shave his head or something).
One of my all-time favorite HK moments was when Ramsay did the "oh hold on, *wahwah* is it cry time now?" at Elise (which they showed in her elimination montage).

the out takes were the best part of the show IMO, did you see at the very, very last GR telling Elise not to be "such a bitch" ??? we were ROFLing!
Dh was leaning towards Paul, I was leaning towards Will, but neither of us had a real strong preference.... as you say, as long as it wasn't Elise!
