topcatwawa Sep 19, 2011 09:16 AM

Need help to find the best Chinese restaurant that can accommodate large group of 10 to 12 people. Preferably within walking distance from the San Gabriel Hilton.

Thanks a lot!

$ is not an issue and we would love to have any Chinese cuisine. Decent service would be a plus. I speak Mandarin.

Thanks again for all your help.

I have become a big fan of Taste of Chong Qing if you care for Sichuan.
Hunan Seafood is also very good if you want to turn the heat up.
For Shanghai I would go with Giang Nan.

      Hunan Seafood Restaurant
      8772 E Valley Blvd, Rosemead, CA 91770

      Giang Nan
306 N Garfield Ave, Monterey Park, CA

Mei Long Village has a big banquet table (reserve in advance). Their "lion's head" (獅子頭) are quite good.

Giang Nan is not within walking distance of the SG Hilton.

I've been having a love affair with Beijing Restaurant across the street for quite some time now. It's not a big restaurant but they shouldn't have a problem accommodating 10-12.

If you call ahead, you can experience the rare, painful ecstasy of jie mo duo (Beijing spicy mustard cabbage) but you'll have to speak Chinese to get it.

I would consider Shanghai Restaurant across the street.

Accommodate large group + walking distance of SG Hilton = New Capital in the Focus Plaza.

Do you have any particular price range, regional preference (e.g. Cantonese, Hunan, etc.), ambiance preference, etc.? Does anyone speak Chinese in the group?

              That's too general of a a question.
