Meeting for dinner in Orleans

We are meeting my in laws for dinner in Orleans. They will be staying in Wellfleet and we live in W. Barnstable. Orleans was the mid point chosen. We said Abba's and they said Jailhouse. Since I don't think they will go for Abba's and I haven't heard anything good about Jailhouse do you have other suggestions? I don't know what made them select Jailhouse (I think the folks they are staying with mentioned it) but I would assume that price point is what they are comfortable. TIA.

We went to the Beacon Room and had a lovely time. The in-laws and their friends were happy with their meals and the room. I was a little worried when there were squeamish noises about the calamari.
The problem with Abba turned out to be that the menu looked too avant-garde. Not surprising for a French, Thai and Israeli restaurant anywhere.
Go West Barnstable!!

I'd vote for Nauset Beach Club, too. If the in-laws like a relatively early meal, they have a three-course prix fixe for $26. Orders must be placed by 6 p.m.

BTW, AGM, I'm in West Barnstable, too.

As for Joe's Barley Neck: Don't do it! Good for a late-night drink and some weekend entertainment, NOT a dining destination. You're also right to pass on the Jailhouse Tavern. If the budget keeps you out of Abba and Nauset Beach Club, look at Mahoney's or the Beacon House (across from Jailhouse).

Thanks. I have another recommendation for Mahoney's. I never heard of Joe's at the Barley Neck. I will pass these along and see where we end up.
