Nice LA restaurant for birthday dinner?
My twin sister and I will be turning 19 in October and I'm currently searching for "nice" restaurants that we can go to for dinner, with a group of 5-8 people. I would prefer a place in the LA/Hollywood/Los Feliz area, and a place that isn't casual, but not too expensive - maybe up to $30 per dish. I would love a restaurant that is similar in atmosphere to Little Dom's on Hillhurst - not too "romantic" but not loud either. I'm not picky about the kind of food, I'll literally try anything. I was thinking about Yamashiro, but I'm kind of iffy about it because it's fairly expensive. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (: thank you!

Yamashiro has great views and that is about it, it is way more expensive than you are talking about.
There are nice local places on Vermont like il Capriccio and Rockwell VT, Fred62 is probably too casual.
Moving west there is Off Vine in Hollywood, Son of a Gun for small plates, Cleo is another nice small plate place, for seafood The Hungry Cat. The Little Next Door is nice for French.
Check those out.
