3 stars recommendation
Which 3 stars restaurant would you currently recommend in France, based on recent experiences? Which have the best quality food for the price asked (carte or menu but not considering lunch deals)?
Maybe separating Paris/rest of the country and traditional/more innovative cuisine
If you want to go to a 3*, IMO, then you need not "care" (*) about price; They all are very pricy.
What are you looking for ? classical or more contemporary cuisine ?
is the setting important ? (i.e. grand hotel setting vs. more intimate )?
Have a look at uhockey's recent 3* visit to Paris ( search for him on this forum, or go to his blog http://endoedibles.com/?cat=469 ); he went wild and tried a few different 3* stars.
(*) within a certain limit ... excluding lunch specials.
I'm not really looking for anything particular - just want to know current opinions and on both type of cuisine.
Agreed about price, that's why I was referring to food quality because for the same price you do not necessarily get top quality... so maybe if you could just do one 3 stars, you'd rather hit the top one :)
I've read uhockey's reviews when he posted - great ones. But looking for more opinions and not only Paris (how are Pic, Blanc, Loiseau, Troisgros, Lameloise, Bras, Arnsbourg, Côte St Jacques, and so on lately?)
We love Lameloise. Food is always first rate & the wines are reasonable for what they are. I always expect to see wine prices marked up more at the stared places, but not so here. Setting is nice & maybe because of the small town locale, the pace feels even more relaxed (which is not to say that they are slow or inefficient - not the case at all).
Have not been to Loiseau, but if their one star in Beaune is any indicator, I wouldn't bother.
