Ray's Pizza Prince St closing

Just saw this in the Times... I've been going to Ray's since the mid-seventies...Sad

      That's Spring St. I worked in a factory down there in the early 80's, Bens for lunch at least weekly.

    2. I've noticed business seemed to be on a downswing for them, so I'm relieved to hear that's not why they're closing. There are plenty of storefronts nearby for them if they can get used to paying rent. Hope they stick around.

      1. Ray's of Prince is not closed yet--I ate there last night and Helen the owner said they'll be there until the end of the month. She's looking for a new place in the area but the rents are obviously incredibly high. Go to Ray's while you still can! FYI Ray's is two restaurants--a pizza place where you eat slices, pies and sandwiches, and a sit down place next door where you can get an old school, freshly prepared Chicken Parmigiana and the like, with a side of pasta and red sauce. The meat comes from Moe the butcher, the last remaining butcher in Little Italy, and the bread comes from Parisi. These three establishments are the last of their kind.
