Sushi in Hollywood area

  • 7

A friend and I will be in Hollywood Fla in mid October. Any recommendations for a nice quiet sushi bar?

  1. No! not that there aren't any nice quite sushi bars in Hollywood just none that are any good..... Guess you can go to Hiro's Yakka San ... I hear good things but have not tried their sushi yet

I was reading reviews on Tatu located inside of Hard Rock Hotel....they were all very good or very negative. I feel like I am not getting a true picture. Anyone eaten there??

    2. Nothing great in Hollywood. If you hadn't said "quiet" I would say go to Sushi Rock on Las Olas in Ft. Lauderdale. The sushi is great, but it's definitely not quiet.

      1. For a reliable local joint type place I would recommend Nakorn in downtown Hollywood. Nothing earth shattering but will satisfy any cravings. If you are willing to travel fifteen minutes or so from the downtown/beach area I would highly recommend Naoe in Sunny Isles (no menu/Omakase/$$) or Makoto in Bal Harbor. Pass on Tatu

        1. Neither is in Hollywood, but Hiro's Sushi has been newly rennovated just South of Hollywood at 17046 West Dixie Highway, NMB.

And I'm surprised nobody has chimed in with chowhound favorite NAOE (also nearby in Sunny Isles beach). Just search that word on this board and you'll find an embarrassment of endorsements. www.naoemiami.com

Try the Florida board, and look for recommendations from An Insatiable Appetite (http://aninsatiableappetite.blogspot.com) or LilMsFoodie.
