Corporate dining in San Jose that's not on Santana Row?

Dear Friends,
I live and work in SF but need to arrange a work lunch for 20-25 near downtown San Jose....but I don't know the area at all. Can you help me find a restaurant? The event is a kind of "team reward" lunch so it should feel like a big deal, not a delicious hole-in-the-wall. I haven't met most of the people, so it just needs to be generally appealing. I'll pick something on Santana Row otherwise, as that's the only San Ho place I know...

    How close is close? Parcel 104 is 7 miles away in Santa Clara. That would fit the bill for a special work lunch.

      Yes, I was going to suggest that. It's pretty nice, although the hotel setting isn't exactly young and hip, the food is pretty tasty and the outside patio is very pleasant.

      E&O Trading Co is out of business

      Original Joe's - not special enough

      McCormick & Schmick's is a good suggestion as is La Pastaia

      The Grill on the Alley at the Fairmont is very good.

      My vote would be for Arcadia at the San Jose Marriot next to the Convention Center - it's a Michael Mina restaurant and the food & service is excellent.

        Agreed! (Original Joe's is definitely not special, in my opinion.) I vote for Arcadia for this situation.
