Sole Propietor, 111 Chop or Via

My husband and I get a gift certificate from Sole Propietor every year that we tend not to rush out and use. I usually have mixed experiences there, although I do like the bar drinks. I've had better luck with lunch there. Never been to their other too places 111 Chop for steak or Via for Italian. Anyone have recommedations for which one to use or dishes? (I'm trying to decide whether to go there for the babysitter we have Sunday or use my groupon for Chez Henri. I'm leaning to Chez, but I've got to use this certificate some day!)

yes, I would use it at 111. It is loud but the food is good, if not great. I'd be happy to eat there with a gift certificate.

As much as I like the bolognese at Via, I'd go with 111 - great steaks & good service. Plus, 111 has the best au grautin potatoes I've ever had.

I would recommend 111 but Via is also good. I think the food and service at 111 are excellent not just good. I enjoy it as much as any of the Boston steak houses and I've been to them all. The extra perk is lower prices and free parking lot or $2.00 valet. In my opinion, you can't go wrong.

Of the three, I prefer the Chop. In fact, it´s one of my favorite restaurants in Worcester. All of their steaks and chops are good, but I usually order the mixed grill. They also have an extensive wine list. We´ve tried Via several times but haven´t been impressed.

I would agree, but also add the disclaimer that 111 is VERY LOUD. Via is pretty bustling too, but conversation is challenging, at best, at 111. Sole is decent if you stick to basics......I think when they try and assemble a complex flavor dish they tend to fail.
