Salsa's Slow Roasted Pork in Asheville, NC
Hi there! New to the site. My husband and I have a question if anyone can give any feedback we'd really appreciate it....
We both love to eat good food. And we were both beyond thrilled to have found the slow roasted pork dishes at Salsa's. For the last year we've always been able to depend on this one dish. If you've had it, you'd know what I'm talking about.... except wait a minute, maybe not.
See, the last three times we've been to Salsa's, the dish is not nearly the same. It's lacking the deep, rich unique taste it used to have. Now it's just like any other place. And this is upsetting.
So, anyone else had this dish lately? Noticed any differences? Are we both going crazy? Is there a specific chef you need to make sure is cooking that night? Is there new management?
Any feedback you may be able to share would be very welcome.
I wish I could shake the feeling there's not going to be a happy ending to this little tale...

Stalwart Chowhound Danna, myself, and others have spoken highly of Salsa in the past, and just a few years ago it was one of the jewels in Asheville's downtown dining scene. Unfortunately, it has been in decline in the past year or so.
The good news: You and your husband remain perfectly sane...and have perceptive taste buds to boot!

re: Jeff C.
*sniff* I was hoping this post was going to be evidence that Salsa was back on track! Honestly, it's been more than a year since I've had the Pork As It Was. Count yourself lucky. And yes, even in the years when Salsa's was still great, it would vary from FABULOUS to merely delicious depending on how much time Hector had spent in the kitchen on any particular day.
