Good Oysters in Toronto

Looking to have a few oysters tonight in Toronto. Any place I should try out? Not looking to sit at a table but rather sit at the bar and have a few pints and some good quality oysters.

Looking for current deals? The Globe trio (Globe, 2 earths) have Buck a Shuck PEI malpecs on patio, 4PM to 6PM (plus half-priced apps and half-priced beer).

Pure Spirits in Distillery District always offers some oysters at "Six for $12" -- ask for the volume discount.

Oyster's, Haddock cakes, and Sticky Toffee Pudding are great at Starfish. Don't get the lobster, because it is overpriced ($28/lb), and not by any means sweet. Also, make an advanced reservation to sit in the front room, by a window. The back room is just plain depressing and full of fruit flies and stagnant air.

Had a mini-chowmeet at 'Starfish' with fellow chowhounder skylineR33 a couple of days ago.
Very good selection of oysters with around 10 North American, 8 European and a couple of New Zealand varietals. We focused on the 'flats' since this is the season for them!.

Went to Starfish this week and it was really good. Started out with a dozen oysters from various regions and some affordable cava to wash it down. Excellent and fresh, and the staff are really helpful. Would definitely recommend sitting at the bar. Also had a steak and pork loin main, both were outstanding.

Better yet, go to Mike's Lobster on Gerrard a few doors east of Broadview and buy a whole bunch, get some great beer and some good friends and chow down.

Bill's is good for what it is, but it is not in the same league as Diana's.

Wait a couple more weeks and the 'flats' from New Brunswick, Maine, France and Ireland will be in! Glidden flats, Kelly's Galway and Belon!!!! Yummmm!
Regarding where to go? Oyster Boy tends to be a little bit cheaper but Starfish always has the best selection. To break the monotony, when in season, they also feature live diver's scallops, clams, abalone and sea urchins as well! Owner Patrick McMurray of Starfish once opened up a giant 'red' sea urchins for me which was absolutely amazing! Sooo sweet!

Oyster Boy all the way. We love to sit at the bar and do just that - a few pints, a few oysters and chat with the charning staff.
