Solo dining on a Monday in Nashville

Staying downtown, but might have a car. First trip to Nashville. I like to sit at the bar when I eat solo, but that's not a deal breaker. Looking for something local, not chainy, some buzz and atmosphere and some good eats. I've seen City House and Tayst mentioned - either of those or something else that would be good for me? Thanks!

Most good restaurants will have full food service in the bar -- that's always an option.

City House over tayst for me any day of the week. (They are open Monday, closed on Tuesday.) There are people who love tayst but I have always been underwhelmed. Other places that are either downtown or an easy drive/cab/shuttle away: Eastland Cafe, Margot, Capitol Grille (although the bar serves a limited appy-type menu only I think), Cabana, Germantown Cafe, Virago.

City House and their chef's bar sounds like it would fit the bill.
