my hands were literally shaking as i held the birria taco in my hands....yes that good.

I made it up to la to drop off a friend originally from oaxaca to see his sister in the area...and on the advice of bandini and this site i made it to the holy grail of birria and carne asada establishments.

I was a little trepidatious as to what to expect from the modest exterior...it does look like its closed. but on a closer inspection (through the bars on the window) i noticed the two chefs in there paper hats tending to the grill along side huge stockpots of muy sobroso birria!

i immediately knew i was in the right place, being the only gringo in sight. the smokey dark interior...much larger than the storefront reveals befits the place perfectly..it seems as if it has been there forever.(almost hints of a mexican berghoff's in its old style)

the man who greeted me..Raul, who i believe is the manager was a fantastic warm guy. i had told him that i came all the way from temecula to el parian on the praise i have heard written on this website...and he gave me the first birria taco i had ordered for free.

i sat right in the front table being a lone diner...which i thought i wouldnt like being so close to the door, yet it ended up being awesome because i was right there watching the action of the front kitchen,( the ladeling of birria, fresh tortillas being patted out and grilled, carne asada bringing brought up etc.) the restaurant was filled with families dining after easter service.

words DO NOT do this taco justice. succulent moist, i even oddly like the surprise of little bits of goat bone. balanced with the acidic chopped onion and cilantro and thick lemon wedges and radish. you just have to try it for youre self...and you will say you have enjoyed one of the best meals of your life. no kidding

needless to say the carne asada has a quality to it in all facets, texture, flavor, scent, that is utterly unique.

      2. Absolutely amazing carne asada. The smell of the barbeucing meat inside the place is so wonderful. Only possible negative are the times they give you some meat that's been sitting around and has had the fat coagulate on it. Even then it's still very tasty. Other times, you'll be lucky - they'll be chopping it up and putting it directly into your burrito. Great authentic, non-Americanized feel to the place.

        2. I absolutely NEED to go here.

          I'm dreaming of this place.

How do I make my stomach larger?

How to I make it possible to go there when I'm not working?

How do I create a magic teleport machine to get me to where I need to go?

          I want it all.
