Need Unique, Delicious & Casual between E. Orange & Toms River NJ

Lately I have business up in E. Orange NJ & was wondering if you CH'ders could suggest some places that are Unique, Delicious & Casual in between that we could dine at going back South on the GSP.... we're open to any cuisine... appreciate your suggestions in advance.. Thanx

Four Seasons Thai is always a good choice as well.

Red Bank is not far off the GSP too, so you have all those options. but I'm sure you've been to El Norte De La Frontera and Pho Le.

Now that I think about it, Lincroft is right off that same exit and I am seriously craving a Pizza Rustica from Aleo.

Tapas - next to the H Mart in Edison there's a Korean Tofu House ("So Kong Dong") and Korean BBQ buffet ("Picnic Garden"). I haven't tried either of them yet - I'm usually just running into shop for some specialty groceries at the HMart - but they look pretty tempting. The shopping plaza is on Lincoln Hwy (Rt 27). They're a little ways off the GSP but certainly fit your "unique" and "casual" criteria.

Maplewood is in between. Lorena's is excellent, a tiny place that's one of the very best restaurants in the state. I ate there a week ago and it was fantastic. Unique, delicious, and casual - that's Lorena's. Note, reservations are essential, as they do fill up in advance.

I assume you know about Iselin? There are many posts here about the Indian cuisine there. It is right off the parkway. Unique, Delicious & Casual.

Montclair has a lot of great places, including Fascino, Blu, and Culinairianne. Note that Passionne is closed at the moment while they are moving to a larger space.

What about trying Dragon Palace in Edison? It's right by the exit for MetroPark from the Parkway. Maybe a bit far north, but it certainly fits your three criteria.

No. You're thinking of Wonder Seafood. Dragon Palace is basically Sichuan, and very good. There's some discussion of it on this Board.

You could also do Keyport Fishery. Nothing more casual than taking a plate of fried fish and sides over to the dock and eating it there. An institution.
