Wednesday dinner for 30 within walking distance from UCLA.

Prefer something other than Napae Valleye Grille. For a few weeks from now and would like to keep it ~$30/person.

I wonder if you could get an outdoor table by the pool at The W on Hilgard?

I love the pool at the W, but dont think they can accomodate 30. Most of the places within walking distance are more fast food. There is a good Italian, Tanino waliking distance. Also, Yamato Westwood; which is ok food but a fun enviornment as I recall.

I haven't been to Tanino in years, but it was the place that came to my mind.

Second Tanino - airy space with enough room for a big crowd and a short walk for you.
Shamshiri at Westwood and Massachusetts is a longer haul but they will surely accommodate you and serve you wonderful wonderful food - our standby tor years. Never fails to impress visitors. Great ambiance and good energy.

Some of the best food in a civilized setting in Westwood Village is at Thai House, across Gayley from Whole Foods. A group of 30 would take up almost the whole restaurant, but it is very reasonably priced and if you put a menu together they could handle it efficiently. Carpets, tablecloths, real glasswear -- much nicer than the fast places but not more expensive.

... And their chicken curry is delicious. I second this.

Another option is Shaherzad, further south on Westwood Blvd. I've seen parties of ~30 accommodated there quite nicely. With any eatery, I suppose you must call ahead to organize such a large party.

Love Thai House, but didn't consider it because they barely have 30 seats in the whole place.
