Bay Ridge

Seriously considering a move out to Bay Ridge from Williamsburg, however, i'm getting a little wary because i've been so spoiled with amazing restaurants here. Out in Bay Ridge, we've gone to Skinflints and Plaka, both were fine. Little backstory: My boyfriend grew up out there, and is eager to move back. However, he is the furthest thing from a foodie - but i'm teaching him! Anything really amazing out there i'm missing out on?

check out Piattini on 98th and 4th.. It's really a hidden gem. Excellent mostly Sicilian style Italian and yummy gelato!

You'll manage to find places to eat but as far as food shopping, not good.

I basically agree with the shopping issue but... things have been looking better recently. Bay Greens is now open and they have good produce and are open 24 hours. I find the supermarkets simply awful however and rarely use them- and I think that I have tried them all. With all the extra room that I have now, I stock up on basics and just supplement.
Try the Greek Festival on Ridge and 85th this weekend- something you don't find in many other neighborhoods...

Seems that way - luckily, I work in Williamsburg, so there are good butchers here, and I often do Fairway trips, too!

As Motosport mentions, Tanoreen is a terrific restaurant, and there are a wealth of other good middle eastern options in the immediate area (we like Karam a lot too).

For me, a HUGE asset of living in bay ridge would be the proximity to Sunset Park - oodles and oodles of options of the mexican/chinese/other latin-american and other asian varieties. sure, not necessarily places that will deliver to you, or places you could walk around the corner to get, but less than 10 mins away by car, 15-20 by foot/train depending on where exactly were talking about.
