That's sad news, but I'd guess that Shorty's .32 was affected by competition from The Dutch.

Yes, very sad. I loved the place and have not been impressed by The Dutch at all.

Agreed. Shorty's was a new favorite of mine, the kind of rustic, local, healthy American bistro that places like Seattle and Vancouver have dozens of wonderful versions of, but which are hard to find in NYC...i'll miss it...(and i wasn't impressed by The Dutch on my one visit either)

Very sad to hear this. Shorty's was my favorite place to eat before going to City Winery for live music.
