Going to Toledo this weekend. Where's someplace good for breakfast on Saturday morning? Thanks.

The Original Pancake House just reopened after a fire. It is across from Westgate (Central & Secor). Other places may be more convenient. Where will you be?

Yup. The Original Pancake House is my go-to place in Toledo for great breakfasts. (They used to have a second location on Reynolds Road but that one isn't around any more; fortunately the one on the north side is still there.) I especially love their big puffy apple pancake, but everything there is great, omelets etc. Here's the info:

Do they get packed with long waits like the Original Pancake Houses I have been to in Michigan and Florida? When I have the luxury of time, it's a top choice for me.

I've only been there on weekdays. In my experience, the long waits are primarily on Sundays, but I've never been at that location on a Sunday.

Thanks. We're staying in Holland, near the airport. I'm sure there's Denny's etc. chain restaurants around there, but I always look for the local stuff. Been to Original Pancake House elsewhere (Cincinnati, Chicago, Buffalo) and I've always liked it. Is Schmucker's any good?

Schmuckers is an old diner type place and not worth going out of your way for. I certainly wouldn't bother, given where you are staying. I am blanking on places in the Holland area. I believe the OPH is a franchise but this one at least is locally owned.
